Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy
Journal of Societas Beneficium (JSB), published by Publisher Karya Grafindo Prima Perkasa, is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, transparency, originality, and ethical scholarly publishing.
This policy provides guidance regarding the acceptable and unacceptable use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Grammarly, QuillBot, and other AI-assisted technologies, in the preparation and submission of manuscripts.
The use of AI tools does not reduce the responsibility of authors. Authors remain fully accountable for the accuracy, originality, ethical integrity, and scientific quality of all submitted content.
1. Permitted Uses of AI Tools
Authors may use AI-based tools for limited supportive purposes, including:
Language editing and grammar correction;
Improving sentence clarity, readability, and structure without changing the scientific meaning or interpretation;
Assisting in organizing outlines or preparing initial manuscript drafts.
AI tools may only be used to improve communication quality and must not replace the intellectual contribution of the authors.
2. Prohibited Uses of AI Tools
The following uses of AI tools are strictly prohibited:
Generating substantial portions of the manuscript or complete sections;
Creating, fabricating, manipulating, or altering research data, results, citations, or references;
Submitting AI-generated content without proper human review, verification, or disclosure;
Using AI technologies in ways that violate publication ethics or academic integrity standards.
Violations of this policy may result in:
Manuscript rejection;
Editorial investigation;
Publication correction or retraction; or
Other actions deemed necessary by the Editorial Board.
3. Disclosure and Transparency
Any use of AI tools must be clearly and transparently disclosed within the manuscript.
Authors are required to state:
The specific AI tool used;
The purpose of its use; and
The nature and scope of the assistance provided.
Disclosure statements should be included in the Acknowledgments section, Methods section, or other appropriate section of the manuscript.
4. Author Responsibilities
Authors are fully responsible for:
Ensuring the scientific accuracy, originality, and integrity of the submitted manuscript;
Remaining accountable for all content, including AI-assisted text;
Verifying that AI-assisted content is free from plagiarism, misinformation, and factual inaccuracies;
Using AI tools ethically and responsibly in accordance with this policy; and
Responding transparently to editorial questions regarding the use of AI tools.
AI technologies must not be listed as authors or co-authors under any circumstances.
5. Policy Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect developments in AI technologies and evolving standards in scholarly publishing.
