Plagiarism Policy
Journal of Studia Islamica Muhammadiyah (JSIM), published by Publisher Karya Grafindo Prima Perkasa, explicitly prohibits all forms of plagiarism. To maintain academic integrity and publication ethics, all submitted manuscripts are screened using Turnitin plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.
The similarity report generated by Turnitin will be evaluated by the Editorial Board to identify potential plagiarism, improper citation practices, excessive similarity, or unethical academic writing.
◆ Editorial Actions Based on Similarity Index
- Similarity Index Above 40%
In this case, the manuscript will be rejected due to poor paraphrasing, excessive quotation, or strong indications of plagiarism. - Similarity Index Between 20–40%
The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision and correction. Authors are required to improve paraphrasing quality, reduce similarity levels, and provide appropriate citations for all referenced materials. - Similarity Index Below 20%
Minor revisions related to citation accuracy, paraphrasing, or referencing may still be required to ensure compliance with academic writing standards.
In the second and third cases, authors must carefully revise sections containing quotations, paraphrased materials, and referenced content to ensure originality and proper attribution.
