Interpretative Study of Qur’anic Verses on Social Ethics A Thematic Tafsir Approach in Responding to the Challenges of Moral Change in Society
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to explain the relevance of Qur’anic verses on social ethics in responding to the moral changes of modern society through the thematic tafsir (tafsir mawdu’i) approach. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive–interpretative design, as it is suitable for exploring the thematic meanings of Qur’anic verses and connecting them with complex social phenomena. This method was chosen to enable an in-depth and flexible analysis that aligns with the characteristics of textual studies and societal dynamics. The research location is focused on Indonesia’s digital public sphere, which most clearly reflects moral changes within society. The informants consist of three individuals a lecturer of Islamic ethics, a digital media analyst, and a social literacy activist selected purposively based on their expertise and relevance to issues of social ethics. The findings indicate that Qur’anic values such as justice, courteous communication, and social responsibility hold strong relevance in shaping contemporary public ethos. The study recommends strengthening Qur’anic ethical education, formulating digital ethics guidelines, and developing further research based on thematic analysis and case studies.
